How to Use Snapchat
Snapchat is a popular app that lets you share photos, videos and text with friends. It also features fun games, news and entertainment, quizzes and truly innovative photo-and video-editing tools.
How to Use the App
The app is free and can be downloaded on iPhones, iPads, Android devices and Windows PCs. To begin using the app, you’ll need to register with a username and password. The app then accesses your smartphone contacts to load them onto the app or you can add people who you haven’t met before.
How to Send a Snap
To send a snap, simply tap on the big camera circle in the top left corner of the screen and choose a filter or lens that you want to apply to your image. Once customized, you can then send it to your friends, add it to your story (a record of the day that your friends can view for 24 hours) or share it on Snap Map.
How to Post a Snapchat Story
You can post a Snapchat story by tapping the add to stories icon (square with a plus sign) or the arrow at the bottom-right of your screen. The story is available for 24 hours and will then disappear.
How to Use the Discover Area
The Discover section of Snapchat offers a range of news and entertainment content from its media partners, including popular live stories. While it can be a good way to stay up to date, the risk for younger users is that the content is not filtered and they could come across news stories or tabloid style articles that aren’t age appropriate.
